What this is:
A toner complete with Glycolic Acid 10%. This stuff is great if you are trying to get rid of fine lines, acne scars, and dark spots. Also, the Glycolic acid gets rid of dull skin cells so it helps keep your complexion looking bright and youthful.
What it is formulated to do:
This texture-refining blend visibly decreases pore size while improving overall skin condition. Glycolic Acid (an alpha hydroxy acid) helps to increase cellular turnover while Sodium PCA offers a natural moisturizing factor found in healthy skin. Lactic acid and aloe vera contribute further toning and soothing benefits.
Glycolic Acid is the stuff that facial peels is made out of, so instead of getting a peel done once a month, try this stuff every second day! It also comes in 5% so pick whichever one suites your skin type best. I use this toner every second day or so after I cleanse at night. It is a great way to rid your skin of dead skin cells on the surface. This is especially important come winter time because the skin on your face gets dry and chapped from the cold wind.
As I've said before, I don't like to tone my face too often because I am afraid it will encourage more sebum production, however, this stuff is great to use every second day for oily skin. If you have dry to normal skin I would say go for it ever evening but work up to every evening. So for the first week do it every second night, then move up to ever night during the second week.

I find that toner always makes my skin REALLY dry - even if I try to work it into a normal routine. my face gets really red and blotchy - not so good.
So even for sensitive skin, what would you say?
I would suggest using a cream toner like Roc Hydra 3 in 1 (http://producthoarder.blogspot.com/2010/05/facial-cleansers-and-toners.html). It is a very gentle toner which you can even use in the eye area. If you have a London Drugs near where you live, I know they have samples of this stuff so you should definitely try it out. I really like using a toner after I wash my face because every time I do, the makeup pad still picks up makeup so that means my cleansers don't always get rid of everything.
But as I have said before, using a toner is not a must have step in all cleansing regimes. In fact, if you don't wear very much makeup, you really don't need to use a toner.
