Happy Boxing Day Shopping Everyone!

Sunday, December 26, 2010
I sure hope everyone's holiday was filled with family, friends and lots of fun! In the next couple of days I am going to do a quick video blog of the amazing haul of makeup I received this Xmas! Such a lucky girl I am!

Today I have two things for you, a product review and a dupe warning!

The Dupes:

MAC's Zangy vs. MACs Electric Eel
They are both a bright blue colour and are almost exactly the same! Zany is SLIGHTLY lighter than Electric Eel but you won't need both so make sure not to go overboard on Boxing day!

Product Review:
Price: Aprox $20 @ Sephora
Removing Power: 9.5 out of 10
Product application: 7 out of 10
Product removal: 3 out of 10
Packaging: 5 out of 10

I know that it says 'rinse-off' on the very front of the bottle but I am not the only one who could not read the light white writing on the clear packaging! This formula works GREAT! In fact, it works even better than my Lancome eye-makeup remover... HOWEVER, you have to RINSE this off which can be very inconvenient if someone else is in the bathroom and you have all your makeup supplies/vanity in another room. Also, if you forget, it tends to burn your eyes! A friend of mine and I were discussing yesterday how it burned and then I went to Sephora and a woman working their told us we had to rinse if off.... way to read the bottle ladies. So, if you purchase this, make sure to rinse it off or it might cause all the area around your eye to burn. I especially noticed this when I put on my eye moisturizer...  There is also a Clinique no-rinse formula in a purple bottle that might be a better choice than this but I have yet to try it out.

And don't forget to enter our December Contest for a chance to win a FULL SIZED ROC 3 in 1 toner/eyemakup remover/cleanser! The entire package is worth up to $50 in samples and full sized products!

Happy Shopping Ladies and Gents!

Sephora Collection Blockbuster Xmas 2010

Saturday, November 27, 2010
Pigmentation: 8 out of 10
Colour selection: 6.5 out of 10
Savings: 10 out of 10
Purchase: $56 @ Sephora

I have to say I am not in love with this blockbuster. A lot of the colours are alike, and there are a lot of different brown tones and many of them are not very pretty. However, I do think this is an amazing deal for those of you who don't have a very large eyeshadow collection. There are also a lot of lipsticks in this package which I don't like considering you can't take the gloss with you to reapply. I would rather them have just put more eyeshadow colours in the package instead.

I also have some exciting news! Over the next month or so I will be reviewing local products and services so if you have something you would like me to review please let me know and we can chat.

And don't forget to enter our November contest!

Shimmering Sands....

This is my favourite Cover Girl Trio:

Shimmering Sands

Pigment: 9 out of 10
Blendability: 9 out of 10
Colour matching: 10 out of 10

I absolutely love this trio! It is 'cheap' and all the colours work great together. I usually use all three, the lightest on my brow bone, the darkest on the outer corners and the middle colour on the inner corners. I have also had many compliments on my eyeshadow when I wear this trio. And the best part? It gives you a pretty natural yet 'fancy' eye look! I highly recommend it! In fact, Cover Girl is my second favourite department store brand and just over 50% of their eyeshadows are true to colour when put on your eyes.

I could not find pictures of the following eyeshadow duos but here are my reviews:

PERKY
new Matte shadow duo in light lime green and navy blue

Both these pigments transfer over beautifully. However, I do not like the combo of both these colours and prefer to use them separately.

PLATINUM
Metallic shadow Duo in silver and sparkly black

This is a GREAT smokey eye look! I used these two colours to create a dramatic eye for my graduation ceremony... I felt glamourous! The silver transfers over very thick and looks amazing! I also like using the black over top of regular black eyeliner for smudging.

GLIDED
New metallic shadow duo in dark gold and black/gold

I also love these two pigments! They kind of remind me of a leopard and I love giving myself the 'lioness' eye with these two shades.

FLARE
Bright shadow duo in light gold/tan and goldy/peach

Beautiful! This eyeshadow makes me feel like my eyes are like a sunset! The colours mix beautifully together and it is a great summer look because it doesn't look to over done but still very glamourous.
